System Configuration

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

System Configuration is the utility application used to modify almost all configuration settings that do not directly relate to mailboxes (configuration of mailboxes and related items is handled by the Mailbox Administration utility).

The utility can be accessed by clicking on the Start button and then selecting All Programs | DuVoice | System Configuration.  The exact path may vary depending on which version of Windows is installed on your system; this example is for Windows 7.  A shortcut to the utility may be placed on the desktop, in the Start menu, and/or pinned to the taskbar, thereby making the application more readily accessible.

Main Window (Non-SIP Systems)

On analog and digital non-SIP systems, the main window for System Configuration will look similar to the figure below:

SYS0001a

Display Columns

On non-SIP systems, System Configuration displays the following information in its main window; each row listed in the tabular area of the window represents the settings for a single voice or fax line:

Column

Description

Device

Specifies a particular voice or fax line.

Extension

Specifies the extension number associated with the given line.

On SIP-enabled systems, this must be set correctly for the integration to work.  On non-SIP systems, whether this field is required depends on the PBX.

Hunt Group

Specifies the hunt group associated with the given line.

On SIP-enabled systems, this must be set correctly for the integration to work.

PBX Template

Specifies the PBX integration template used for the given line.

Default Mailbox

Specifies the default mailbox associated with the given line; this is the same as the auto attendant mailbox specified in the associated Location setting.

Location

Specifies the Location template associated with the given line.

Main Window (SIP-Enabled Systems)

The figure below is an example of what the System Configuration main window may look like on a SIP-enabled system:

SYS0001

Display Columns

On SIP-enabled systems, the tabular area of the window displays all the same information listed in the previous section, above, as well as these four additional SIP-only columns:

Column

Description

SIP User

Specifies the user account to use when registering with the PBX.  If the PBX does not require login, this field will be blank.

SIP Realm

Specifies the domain in which the SIP PBX is configured.  Only used if the PBX requires TLS; otherwise, field will be blank.

Server

Specifies the IP address of the SIP registrar with which the SIP ports are registered.  Typically, this will be the IP address of the SIP PBX.

Enable Register

If Yes, the given port will register with the PBX (or DMG).
