This section covers most of the problems associated with the installation and configuration of InnDesk.

 

Browser Issues

 

Problem

Solution

Unable to login using any account even though the username and password are correct.

Verify the browser has cookies enabled.

 

InnDesk requires the ability to set user cookies for preferences and login support.

Unable to view the calendar for setting wakeup calls.

Verify your browser support Javascript.

I login, but am only given limited access.

The number of licenses has been exceeded on the server.

I know I am the only user logged in, but I still only get limited access.

Users may have logged in and closed the browser without explicitly logging out (by clicking the logout link).

 

The server will log these users out after 30 minutes of inactivity.

I receive a 404 error.

The browser has attempted to view an invalid link.

 

Server Issues

 

Problem

Solution

I receive Internal Service error.

Check your web server configuration.

 

If this occurs only occasionally, this may be a more severe problem.  Contact you DuVoice customer service representative.

I receive an Access Denied error.

The web server configuration does not have an entry giving users the ability to view files in the InnDesk directory.

 

Verify the following two lines have been added to the directory section for InnDesk:

 

Order allow,deny

Allow from all

I receive a 404 error.

The browser has attempted to view an invalid link.

The web server will not start.

Your configuration settings are wrong.

 

Check the Apache error log or run the Test Configuration link from the Apache program group menu.

The httpd.conf file is messed up; is there a way to default it?

A default httpd.conf file was created by Apache during the installation.

 

This file can be found in the default folder located under conf in Apache's installation folder.
