Email alerting is configured per-mailbox.  You may configure a single mailbox to email alerts to multiple email addresses.  Each email address will receive a complete email message containing:  the extension that dialed the emergency number, what emergency number was dialed, and the date and time it was dialed.

Requirements

For email notification:  The VeMail service must be configured, even if you are not actually using VeMail for this feature, because it is in the VeMail configuration that you define the mail server settings that are used for delivering the email alerts.
For voice message notification:  One or more voice lines must be configured.

Configuration

Run the Mailbox Administration application and choose a standard mailbox to use for the email alerts.  Double-click on the mailbox in the list to open it for editing.

The Emergency Alert property page allows you to configure the system to send email alerts to one or more email addresses, and/or deliver an alert voice message to this mailbox, whenever a caller dials a configured emergency number (such as 911).

The Emergency Alert feature is tied to the Avaya IP Office PBX and requires that DevLink be configured.  If it is not, you will be given the following warning dialog:

You will still be allowed to configure the settings but they will not be used until after DevLink has been enabled on the system.

There are two alert options:

Option

Description

Voice message

To have an urgent voice message delivered to this mailbox whenever an emergency number is dialed, check the box provided.

You will also need to make sure that you have assigned a message delivery or notification template configured to trigger on either all messages or urgent messages. If using a message delivery template for VeMail, you will also need to configure the VeMail service.

By default, this option is disabled.

Email message

To have an emergency alert email sent whenever an emergency number is dialed, enter the email address in the box provided.

As noted on the dialog, you may enter multiple addresses by separating each from the next with a semi-colon.  For example: name1@domain.com;name2@domain.com.

Make sure to configure VeMail (at least the SMTP settings) as the system uses those settings  when sending the email messages.

By default, the email list is empty.

You may enable either or both options.

Save your settings by clicking Apply or OK.  To cancel without saving any changes, click Cancel.

Note: For these settings to be used, you not only need to enable DevLink in the IP Office connector settings, but also need to configure one or more emergency numbers in the Emergency Alert feature configuration settings.
