Faxing |
|
The actions listed in this section deal with sending and receiving faxes.
Note: Any choice listed here that does not appear in the drop-down list box can be typed in manually. Note: SIP does not support faxing, so neither of these actions are supported on SIP-enabled systems.
The table below provides a brief overview of each action, listing the action, an example, and a brief description. More detailed descriptions are provided in the sections that follow.
FaxThe Fax option is for accepting a fax into the given mailbox, where it is saved as a fax message. The COS assigned to the mailbox must allow fax messages or the message will not be saved.
When the caller selects this option, the system will prompt: When you hear the fax tone, press the Start/Send button on your fax machine. It will then play the fax tone and attempt to receive a fax message. If successful, and if the mailbox can receive fax messages (per the COS), it will save the fax as a new fax message.
Fax on DemandThe Fax on Demand option directs the call into the fax on demand system, wherein the caller can select one or more fax documents to receive (depending on the configuration) and then enter the fax number that will receive the documents selected.
