Adding Discrete Translations

To add one or more non-consecutive translations to the table, click Add.  This will open the Add Translation dialog, as shown below.

SYS0050

In the main box, enter one or more values to translate, separated by commas; the values in this box equate to the From (Source) field in the translation table.  Notice that the values do not need to be contiguous numbers, but can by any numeric value you wish.

Next, select the translation type from the drop-down list and then enter the modifier.

Click OK to add the translation(s).  Duplicates will be ignored; a room number can only have one translation.

Adding Ranges of Translations

You can add a range of translations by simply entering the starting value, followed by a dash, followed by the ending value.  Ranges can be interspersed with individual entries, as shown in the figure below:

SYS0056

Note: If you enter range values with leading zeros, the zeros will be preserved.  For example, if you set the range start as 01 and range end as 10, the From (Source) values produced with be 01, 02, ..., 10.

Note: Ranges with the format xxx- or -xxx, or where the start value is greater than the end value, are all invalid and will be ignored.

As described in the section above, select the translation type, enter the modifier and then click OK to create the translations.

Any duplicate source numbers will be filtered out.  For example, if you entered 1101-1120, 1119 in the add translation box, the system would only create one translation for source value 1119 even though it appears in the list both as part of the range as well as individually.
