Enable DID support for Opera

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

This setting is only relevant if you have selected Oracle Opera as the hospitality server type.

Requirements

Oracle Opera's FIAS protocol version 2.11 and above supports the optional feature of assigning virtual numbers (DID numbers) to guests.  However, the following requirements must be met:

Opera PMS IFC version 8 or above, configured for FIAS 2.11 or later
Optional module for virtual number support installed on the PMS
DV2000/DV4 configured to include virtual number (DID) fields during registration for check in, check out and guest change messages (see below)

Configuration

At startup, the DV2000/DV4 must register with the Opera PMS, telling it which messages, and which fields within those messages, it supports.  Virtual number (DID) fields may be included in the check in, check out and guest change messages, if the Opera is configured to support virtual number assignment.  By default, the DV2000/DV4 does not request these fields because they are not part of the standard Opera configuration.

To enable the system to request inclusion of DID fields, follow these steps:

1.  Using Activity Monitor, stop the voice mail service.

2.  Run the System Configuration application and select Features | Hospitality.

3.  If prompted, select the PMS instance (as shown below).  This dialog is only displayed if you are licensed for more than one PMS instance.  Otherwise, skip to step 4.

SYS0076

4.  Select the PMS property page (in the tree view on the left).

MSC0174

5.  In the section Micros Fidelio Opera only, check the Enable Opera DID assignment support box to enable the feature (or uncheck it to disable the feature).

6.  Click Apply to save the setting without closing the dialog.

7.  If you are finished configuring hospitality settings, click OK to save and close the dialog.

8.  Once you are finished with all configuration changes, close System Configuration.

9.  Using Activity Monitor, restart the voice mail service.
