Setup for Non-SIP Systems |
|
For non-SIP (analog or digital) systems, the wizard consists of the following five pages, each of which is detailed below:
StartThe first page of the wizard describes what information you will need to complete the setup process.
Click Next to continue.
Site InformationThe second page prompts you to enter the site information, including the company name, the telephone number, and so forth.
All items marked with an asterisk (*) are required. You will not be able to continue to the next page unless all required items are filled in. The Fax telephone number is the one optional field and may be left blank if it is not relevant. Note, however, that if you have licensed the Fax on Demand feature, the fax number may be used in composing the fax cover page.
Once you have entered all the necessary information, click Next to continue.
PBX SelectionThe third page prompts you to select the PBX to which your system will be connected.
If your PBX is not listed, select Generic. The PBX model selected will determine the PBX integration template that will be imported and assigned. You can always modify the template later (or select a different one) using System Configuration.
Click Next to continue.
Voice PortsThe next page displays the voice ports it will create and allows you to enter the extension numbers assigned to each port. The number of ports created is based on how many your system is authorized to use.
As it says on the page, you can leave the extension numbers blank if you want. However, some PBX integrations need to know the extension numbers assigned to the voice mail ports in order to route calls correctly. So, if you do not enter the extensions in the wizard now, you may need to add them later using System Configuration. To enter an extension number, click in the extension field for the row you want to edit and type in the number.
Enter the hunt group, if known. If you don't know the hunt group you can leave that value blank and enter it later in System Configuration.
When you are finished, click Next to continue.
SummaryThe last page, shown below, summarizes your selections.
Click Finish to complete the setup. The system will create the location Default Location and configure it with the site information you entered. It will then create all the voice ports, assigning them the selected PBX integration template and the extension numbers you entered.
You can now open Mailbox Administration or System Configuration as needed.
