Utilities

The DV2000/DV4 provides a number of useful utility applications that you can use to configure, administer, test and debug various parts of the system.  All utilities described here are accessible from the DuVoice menu or one of its submenus.

 

From the DuVoice menu, you can access:

 

Menu Item

Description

Activity Monitor

Use this utility to start and stop the DV2000/DV4 service, and to view line and service activity.

DuVoice Manual

Opens this file.

Mailbox Administration

Use this utility to manage mailboxes and related templates.

Reports

Use this utility to view various system reports.

System Configuration

Use this utility to configure voice and fax lines, locations, PBX integrations, system alerts and various other features (such as the hospitality server, the emergency alert server and the translation table)

TraceDisplay

This utility may be used to view system log files, either in real-time or after the fact, when troubleshooting issues.

 

The Support sub-menu provides access to the following services:

 

Menu Item

Description

Activate or Update License

Use this utility to activate or update your system's license.

Version Information

Opens a web page on the DuVoice website that provides information on the product version you have installed, including links to any upgrades that may be available.

 

The Testing sub-menu offers the following test applications:

 

Menu Item

Description

EASTest

Used for testing the Martec safety management system protocol.

 

Not related to the Emergency Alert System (EAS) used to monitor for 911 calls.

Hospitality Tester

Use this utility to test the hospitality server (check rooms in or out, move rooms, etc.) without having to use the PMS or InnDesk.

ISIClient

Use this utility to test the Inventory Server Interface (ISI) IVR application, if it is licensed and enabled.

Push server test client

Use this utility to test the Push Server, if it is licensed and enabled.

RSIClient

Use this utility to test the Room Status Interface (RSI) IVR application, if it is licensed and enabled.

TAPILine

Use this utility to troubleshoot issues with TAPI integration.

 

Only relevant for systems integrated with a TAPI-enabled PBX (such as the Avaya IP Office).

VeMail Test Client

Use this utility to test VeMail, to ensure the mail server configuration is correct.

 

The Utilities sub-menu provides some additional specialized applications:

Description

Account Code Importer

Use this utility to import account data used by the Account transfer type.

Backup

Use this utility to manually backup VMS data files.

PMS Monitor

Use this utility to monitor traffic between the DV2000/DV4 and a property management system (PMS).

Restore

Use this utility to restore from a backup created by the Backup utility.
